According to ancient lore, during the battle between gods and demons over the pitcher of the nectar of immortality, the pitcher tilted, spilling four drops of this magical liquid onto the earth—Haridwar being one of these sacred places. Meals will be provided en route, and rest will be at the hotel. The form of worshiping God is prayer and meditation; followers of Sikhism do not worship images, icons, or deity statues, nor do they perform rituals. The main object of worship in the Gurdwara is the book, Guru Granth Sahib, containing all the knowledge and teachings of Sikhism.
